Have you always wanted to plan your own trip and not be tied to expensive, inflexible package deals? Do you prefer to plan your sightseeing and daily itinerary independently and with maximum freedom? But you’re not sure how and where to start?

The good news is: It’s easier than you think to plan a personalized trip without the help of expensive travel agencies. Whether it’s winter or summer, a beach vacation or a city break, a trip to Asia or America, with a little planning and the right online tools—all of which are free, by the way—you can create your own unique journey. In this blog post, I’ll show you how to plan and book your first dream trip in six easy steps. Just follow my instructions and enjoy the time of your life!

Planning your trip Step 1: Finding your dream destination

The first thing you obviously need to know is your destination. Let’s say you don’t know where you want to go, but you’re completely flexible and open to new countries and cultures. Then, as a first step, it makes sense to choose your destination based on climate and season. Just type “Best travel destinations for month X” into Google and get some inspiration.

If you already have a travel destination in mind, the next step is to find the right time to travel.

Tips for finding the right time to travel

1) Avoid local holidays and public holidays . At these times, flights and accommodation are significantly more expensive, the main attractions are crowded, and public transport may not run regularly.

2) While you should generally consider the climate when planning your trip, you don’t necessarily have to choose the best month. Often, the best time to travel coincides with peak season. This is when most tourists are traveling, and you might encounter more foreigners than locals. Therefore, always allow yourself a buffer of one to two months when considering the optimal travel time. Off-seasons can be very beautiful too!

3) If your destination involves long flights, you can of course also use your budget as inspiration. Simply use the Explore function of Skyscanner or Google Flights for this.

4) Check the website of the Federal Foreign Office to see if you need a visa or any other entry documents for your destination.

5) Find out about your holiday destination. Vaccinations, currency, language, culture and people. It doesn’t hurt to do some research before your trip.

Trip planning step 2: Itinerary & sights

Unless you’re on a round-the-world trip and have limited vacation days, you’ll want to know your approximate itinerary and the best sights in advance. Of course, you don’t have to plan every detail, but you should still identify a few spots during your trip planning. Depending on what you want to see and experience, other factors like accommodation, transportation, etc., will also depend on your choices.

I’ll show you how that works in the following lines.

Tips on sights and planning your travel route

1) This travel blog presents the best sights in specific places, or even entire travel itineraries and personal accounts. Here you’ll find my overview of countries with travel reports.

2) Google Maps . In my opinion, the best app for searching for restaurants, attractions, beaches, clubs, etc. Simply enter your search term in the relevant location, and you’ll find a complete list including reviews. You can save anything that interests you with a star and quickly find these markers again on the map. In this post, I’ll show you all the essential and practical features of Google Maps for your trip planning.

3) With Instagram , you can search for specific places or hashtags and get inspired by the “Top Posts.” You can also follow hashtags, which will regularly show you new pictures and Reels in your feed. You can also watch Instagram Stories about specific places or restaurants to get a current glimpse into their lives.

4) TripAdvisor and tour operators. I’m more of a fan of Google Maps, but you can search for reviews of attractions, activities, restaurants, etc., just as well on TripAdvisor . Additionally, websites of tour operators like GetYourGuide can often help with planning day trips. You don’t necessarily have to book a tour, but these sites are great for inspiration.

5) YouTube is also a great place to find out about new travel destinations. Whether through professionally produced documentaries or travel vlogs from YouTubers, it’s always worth checking out!

Planning your trip, step 3: finding cheap flights

Have you decided on a destination and travel dates? Do you know what you want to see and have a rough itinerary? Then the next step in trip planning is to find the cheapest flights.
1) The most important factor for saving money is using a flight search engine . It’s also a good idea to use at least two search engines, as prices often vary. Usually, the displayed price will be supplemented by a fee for your baggage and possibly a credit card payment. If the prices aren’t too different, I usually book the flight directly through the airline’s website and only use flight search engines for price comparison.

2) Start looking for flights at least three months in advance . Flight prices increase by up to 20% the closer you book to the departure date.

3) Use miles to book your flights. I collect points with my American Express credit card through my daily spending and have already redeemed them several times for award flights. If you’re interested, I explain in my post how I flew from Sri Lanka to Frankfurt in the world’s best business class for €220 .

4) Flexibility . If you don’t have specific departure and return dates, you can sometimes save a considerable amount of money. You can enter entire months as your departure and return dates in most flight search engines. The same applies to the departure airport. Google Flights also lets you see in its price calendar exactly which combination of departure and return dates is cheapest. The example below shows that depending on when you fly, prices range from €704 to €606. So, if you fly on September 11th instead of September 10th, you can save almost €100.

5) Sign up for airline newsletters . Sometimes airlines offer really good deals around certain holidays that you won’t want to miss. Etihad, Qatar, Emirates, and Turkish Airlines for intercontinental flights; Ryanair, Eurowings, and EasyJet for European flights.

6) Have flight deals sent to you by email. While the chances of always finding something suitable aren’t very high, sometimes you’ll find something. I can recommend the following websites:

Extra tip for seat reservations:
If you’re flying as a couple, always reserve the two outer seats in a row of three. The likelihood of someone voluntarily reserving the middle seat is very low. So, if you’re lucky and the plane isn’t completely full, you’ll have the entire row to yourselves. However, if someone does happen to be assigned the middle seat, you can always swap seats with them. Very few people wouldn’t prefer an aisle or window seat.

Trip planning step 4: good and affordable accommodation

The key advantage of planning your own trip instead of booking a package holiday? You can choose the accommodation that best suits your personal needs and budget. And even more importantly, you’re not tied to one place and can change accommodations at any time, allowing you to discover multiple locations.

Tips for finding good and affordable hotels

1) Check Google Maps to see where the city center is and where most of the sights are located. Use this location as the basis for your accommodation search . This also reiterates the recommendation from step 2: mark all interesting places with a star.

2) If you plan to use public transport (subway or bus) a lot during your city trip, you can use Google Maps to find and display the individual stations. Book your accommodation near the stops .

3) Look for hotels near the airport if you are only staying for one night and flying on the next day.

4) Always read the reviews of a property. Pay particular attention to the negative comments.

5) Last but not least: Always use a hotel search engine when planning your accommodations .

Thanks to the numerous filter options on these sites, you can perfectly tailor your booking to your budget , location, and customer reviews. I mostly use Booking.com for hotels and hostels, and Airbnb for entire apartments or villas.

Tip: Instead of filtering by classic hotel star ratings, try filtering by customer reviews. On Booking.com, I usually set the filter to: rating of at least 8+.

Medical treatment abroad is expensive. So it doesn’t matter whether you’re just going on a two-week vacation or embarking on a six-month trip around the world. Be sure to take out international health insurance. It’s better to pay a few extra euros at home than to receive a four-figure bill abroad. International health insurance from HanseMerkur and HUK Coburg is recommended . For long-term travelers, I can recommend STA Travel Insurance . The American Express Platinum credit card I mentioned earlier also includes many travel insurance policies, such as international health insurance, baggage insurance, travel comfort insurance, and much more.

For some, investing time and money in travel is reckless and immature, or simply a passing phase. Yet, many others have realized it’s the best investment they can make. Here are 10 reasons why travel is the best investment you can make in your life.

1- It makes you happy.

There’s nothing healthier than choosing your own path and focusing on what makes you happy. Isn’t that pretty much the point of life? Investing in stability and security is certainly a pragmatic choice, but is it a choice that makes you happy?

2- It takes you out of your comfort zone, and that’s the best way to grow.

On every trip, you learn a great deal about yourself. No one can push your limits but yourself. Every adventure you embark on pushes your limits a little further each time. Travel allows you to confront your fears and severely test your mental and physical strength, ultimately strengthening them. Even when we plan our trips, there are always unforeseen events. The road is bumpy and sometimes even dangerous ( speed bumps on a road in Spain and a scooter accident in Vietnam ). Each time, we learn to better protect ourselves against the uncertainties of travel… and those of life. This can mean being more cautious, trusting our instincts more, preparing or organizing more meticulously, but also, sometimes, it means learning to be resilient and not fearing the obstacles over which we have no control.

3- It teaches you to trust yourself

Challenging ourselves, day after day, allows us to acquire the most valuable life lessons. When we travel, we find ourselves in unfamiliar territory, sometimes speaking an unfamiliar language and sometimes alone. In short, we find ourselves in a vulnerable position, which inevitably forces us to come out of our shells, meet people, reassure ourselves, and gain self-confidence, strength, flexibility, courage, and open-mindedness. Knowing yourself and being authentic is one of the pillars of success. And that’s something you can’t buy; it’s something you acquire, and it’s not something you acquire by reading books in the comfort of your routine. By investing in travel, you’re investing in yourself.

4- It opens your mind to cultural differences

By immersing yourself in and experiencing a culture, you understand and appreciate it more deeply. By absorbing each local culture, you open your mind to different ways of living. This is probably what I find most striking about people who don’t travel. They imagine there’s only one “right” way to live: their own. It’s one thing to read and learn about a culture, but there’s nothing like getting your feet wet and being guided by the locals. You discover that there are many points of view and ways of thinking, each with its own reason for being. You can then incorporate elements of these into your own values and opinions to enrich and deepen them.

5- It restores your faith in humanity

When you travel, it’s inevitable that things will go wrong, but there are also human encounters. All over the world, despite language and cultural barriers, you realize that there are incredibly good people. Thank God, even though you hear a lot of terrible things, there are still (a majority, I’d say) good people who give to you despite their poverty, offer support despite their own weaknesses, and smile at you despite their misfortunes. (Like those good Samaritans in A Scooter Accident in Vietnam ).

6- It allows you to leave in order to come back better

Getting out of the house and seeing the world allows you to see your life from a different perspective. By putting your worries aside, even temporarily, it makes you realize that some of them are simply unfounded. Staying in the same routine makes you stagnate and lose sight of what truly matters. Traveling makes you realize how fortunate you are with what you have. Investing in a fresh start, a new horizon, a new beginning—what more could you want?

7- It’s good for your health and for your little heart

When you travel, you walk, walk, and walk some more. Then, you leave your daily stresses at home. So, travel is good for your figure, your blood pressure, your cholesterol, and your energy! And speaking of energy, there’s nothing like travel to bring a couple closer or spark Cupid. Apparently, more than half of travelers experience a love story abroad… No dating site can guarantee such good results.

8- It shapes the youth

We all know you learn more about life while traveling than in your cubicle at work, right ? Travel is about learning through multiple experiences. Everyone knows that experiences count more than theoretical learning. It’s not just about having a great professional resume; we especially need a great personal one. What will you put on your resume? You can always mention that you learned about life by watching reality TV and going shopping, but that’s not very believable. 😉

9- For unforgettable and irreplaceable memories

There are few moments in life that remain etched in our memories, but travel experiences are among them. No story or photo can truly capture the essence of certain moments while traveling. You had to be there. Sometimes these memories seem unreal, yet they instantly bring a smile to our faces. We wouldn’t want to lose these memories for anything in the world. When you’re old and can no longer travel, these are the memories that will make you smile and inspire your grandchildren. Since you can’t buy these beautiful memories, you’ll have to pack your suitcase.

10- It keeps you young

Youth begins in the heart and mind. We start to grow old the day we refuse to step outside our comfort zone, the day we think we’ve learned and understood everything about the world, the day we stop dreaming, the day we lose the desire to grow, the day we lose faith in humanity…

Are you a friend of city breaks? Would you mind warming? Interested in tourism in Asia? If you answered yes to these questions, Singapore may be just the right destination for you! This post contains both practical advice from the planning stage of the trip on accommodation, flights and budget, as well as tips on on-site activities and attractions.

Flights: With or without a stopover?

If you fly from Finland to Singapore, the traveler has practically two options – either a direct flight with Finnair, or a flight with one stopover on Qatar Airways. In practice, the choice of flight is certainly most influenced by the price, and in recent years flights to Qatar have been slightly cheaper than Finnair’s. Personally, however, I like to fly on the Finski because while a little walk during a long flight may be tempting, after all, I don’t like to spend several hours on a foreign airport in the middle of the night. But both airlines are great, and both are sure to get there.

Finnair still operates direct flights between Helsinki and Singapore, albeit temporarily on a longer southern route instead of the normal Arctic route, so flight time has been extended from 13 to 11 hours instead of the normal 11. With the right luck, round-trip flights can cost up to € 500, but the most common ones are around € 600-700. At these prices, a trip to Singapore in less than a week may be too short!

Tip! If possible, book flights outside of the holiday season, and especially avoid international holidays such as Christmas and Easter. The flights are drastically more expensive, even over € 1,000, when enthusiastic Singaporeans travel to Finland to admire the northern lights and Santa Claus!

Accommodation: An experience hotel, a budget option or an entire apartment?

Hotels can be found in every corner of Singapore, and in every price range. However, the cheapest hotel is not worth booking, as generally a slightly higher price level ensures that great deals are often too good to be true. You can use Hotel combined app to book cheap Hotels in Singapore .

If you end up in hotel accommodation, you must first consider whether you are looking for experience accommodation at any price, or prefer a relatively high-quality place to sleep. Probably the best known of the experience accommodations is Marina Bay Sands , a 55-story hotel giant with its rooftop infinity pools and basement casino and mall. Alternatively, Raffles Singapore is a 150-year-old palace complex that threatens luxury and history, and Parkroyal on Pickering with its hanging gardens is sure to impress.

Pictured is the garden-like Parkroyal Pickering

If cheaper options are attractive, there are plenty of affordable hotels in areas such as Bugis, Chinatown and Little India that still have access to beautiful pools and a nice breakfast. The Geylang area, on the other hand, although often attractive in terms of price level, is a local area of red light and therefore attracts a certain type of tourism. If, on the other hand, you are traveling with young children and want a more resort-style experience, Sentosa Island with its theme parks and beaches off Singapore may be your preferred option.

Maybe you’re traveling with a bigger group, and would like to rent an entire apartment for your use. This is possible, and often more advantageous and more spacious than staying in a hotel, but please note that only certain types of apartments for short-term (less than 3 months) rentals are allowed. These apartments are called Serviced apartments, and you can find them here or here , among other things . Care should be taken with Airbnb, as many of the apartments offered there are in fact illegal to rent for less than three months in a row, and this could become a problem during your stay if the illegal rental falls into the hands of the authorities.

Tip! Although Singapore’s public transport is remarkably efficient, it’s still worth staying in the downtown area, which is roughly the area between Marina Bay and Singapore Botanic Gardens, so you don’t have to spend too much time on buses and subways.

Budget: How much money to book for the trip?

While the budget for the trip is certainly very individual, it is safe to say that Singapore is not the number one option for the backpacker or those looking for price levels in many other Southeast Asian countries. You can get the most out of Singapore when you are ready to spend at least a little more money, both on accommodation and on attractions and activities. In the island nation, however, you don’t have to leave the tree bare, and of course you can travel in your own style – but it would be good to book around 50-100 € / person / night in any mid-range hotel, the same amount of food every day, and up to a third Mokoma.

So it’s not really about the cheapest way to get a holiday, but there are many points you can and should save while staying in Singapore. Below are the best savings tips for your vacation:

Get prepaid SIM cards for your phones right from the airport right away, as you can get a lot of data for a little money, which makes life in Singapore much easier.

Download for yourself from the phone apps at least Citymapper for easy public transportation and Gojek or Grab for affordable taxis if needed.

Feel free to visit the local open-air stalls (kopitiam or Hawker center) to eat authentic local food at a really affordable price. Google the names of the dishes if you are not sure what you are ordering!

Cheaper than in a restaurant, you also eat in the basements of shopping malls, which house reasonably priced lunch restaurants and take-away kiosks.

If you can buy tickets to museums and attractions online in advance, you will not only avoid queues, but you may also get some discount.

There are also a lot of impressive free attractions in Singapore, where part of the area is limited to paying customers, but often the free section is already quite good for the undersigned.

Singapore has many sides, so check out the back streets as well

Money may also go unnoticed for shopping, especially if luxury shopping areas like Orchard and Somerset invite you to. However, many of Singapore’s many shopping malls are sure to buy every departure, and you should take a look through Suntech City and 313 @ Somerset, among others.

Activities and Attractions: Take your free options seriously!

Of course, the best memories of each trip are related to what was seen and experienced together, so the role of activities cannot be minimized. However, each destination has items specifically tailored for tourists that, after all, are not worth their price (or the time spent on them!).

In the case of Singapore in particular, I myself would prioritize walking in the downtown area in different neighborhoods, which are often strongly linked to the different minority cultures that live in the country and all look really different. At least the riverbank of Chinatown, Little India, Kampong Glam and Singapore River (as well as riverboats) is definitely worth a peek through. Guided walking tours of these areas can also be booked at an affordable price or even for free if you are particularly interested in their history. Similarly, you can also hop on a bus tour for tourists, including Duck Tours , both on land and water!

Of course, this island nation is also known for its futuristic architecture, and there is much to see in that area as well. Gardens by the Bay with its techno trees is certainly the best known on this scale, and the whole garden is well worth a visit. There are also two greenhouse buildings that require an entrance fee, and of those two, I would argue Cloud Forest is really worth seeing. In addition, it is worth hanging out in the garden until the evening, as the light show of the techno trees is really great. After the show, head to the Waterfront Promenade on the other side of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, where the Spectra water and light show charms. Personally, I even like the Spectra show more!

For the garden lover, Singapore Botanic Gardens and Haw Par Villa are also worth seeing, the Botanic Gardens are especially charming with their impressive woods (I wouldn’t pay for an orchid garden) and Haw Par Villa with their descriptions of Chinese mythology. The most unique of the museums, and worth the price, are, in my opinion, the Art Science Museum with its technology installations and the Battlebox with its knowledge of World War II.

Gardens by the Bay side view from Marina Bay Sands

For larger-scale investments in activities, I would recommend the SEA Aquarium (or if the trip is heading to 2024, the new Singapore Oceanarium) as well as the Singapore Zoo , which is really worth every penny. Even a night animal tour in the late evening was an impressive experience! Universal Studios, on the other hand, may not be worth the price, and unless you’re a fan of movies, hours of queues on most amusement park equipment (especially on weekends) can be tiring.

Last but not least, if you are a lover of hiking and the tropical climate and scorching sun will scare you, there are plenty of options in Singapore to enjoy nature. For example, the 25-foot-high suspension bridge at Macritchie’s Treetop Walk is an experience in itself, and the Bukit Chermin Boardwalk on the water is also an easy and beautiful route. The scenic Fort Canning Park is conveniently located downtown, and the Fort Canning Tree Tunnel is guaranteed to impress with an impressive image. However, for a friend of the beats, Singapore is not the promised land, and one who longs for beach life may prefer to head elsewhere.

Book lavish and Cheap Hotels at Hotelscombined.com and Get Huge discounts while booking .

Thai food: 85 points, Malaysian food: 37 points. Despite the fact that Malaysia offers great Indian food from many places, it is not enough. Thai food is but so much more delicious and varied than Malaysian.

Plain pad thai noodles could be eaten even every other day, with Malaysian national food nasi lemak (rice cooked in coconut milk accompanied by dried anchovies, bony chicken pieces and no-smelling chili sambali) maybe once every six months, chicken rendang a little more often.

The more tourists, the harder it is to reach a sense of exoticism. This is one of the reasons why Malaysia scores. There is no tourist blood tax in Malaysia like Phuket and Pattaya, and it is much calmer and more relaxed anyway.

There are Finns everywhere in Thailand, where you can buy Finnish tentacles and eat in restaurants run by Finns. In Malaysia, on the other hand, it feels like it’s really far from Finland.

A visit to the tribal villages of northern Thailand feels a bit like a visit to a human zoo. In Borneo, Malaysia, there are still hunter-gatherer tribes living in their own conditions.

3. Communication

Points for Malaysia. It’s not only helpful, but also nice if you can chat with the locals – and in Malaysia you can. In Malaysia, English is generally very well understood, and in Thailand it is often very poor.

In Malaysia, nature is much more voluptuous and untouched. Even the country’s most popular and busiest beach resort, Langawi, has remained scenic and lush. However, the most exciting rainforest nature in the country can be found in Borneo. There you can spot oranges and whimsical sympathetic monkeys in nature.

9. Beaches

Thailand beats one hundred to zero in the number, variety and quality of sandy beaches. There are all kinds of beaches in Thailand: tourist rice, deserted sand dunes and everything in between. Even the islands are darkest in the clouds. There are fewer good beach resorts in Malaysia – but you can find them too; for example, Redang Island beats are tops!

Thailand is more relaxed and fun. It activates, of course, also irritates, the senses in a completely different way than Malaysia. There is a lot more noise, hustle and bustle in Thailand. But there are also more smiles and laughter. Malaysia is much much more reserved in everything.

The most important celebration in Thailand is the New Year celebration, Songkran. It is the biggest water war in the world. The most important celebration in Malaysia is Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Then we go to the mosque to pray. I would like to suggest you that you should visit both the places as they have their own beautiful tourist attractions. Visit G Adventure for Malaysia and Thailand tour packages, they have affordable deals and local guides to help you.

The rainy season is often a challenge for those who like to climb mountains. During the rainy season, climbing activities become increasingly difficult, because the terrain is increasingly slippery and the weather is not friendly.

Especially for beginners, climbing mountains during the rainy season is even more dangerous if not done properly. Well, for those of you who want to hike during the rainy season, try applying some of the following tips to keep climbing safe and comfortable!

1. Use proper layering

The right layering will keep the body warm during the climb, especially during the rainy season. Generally, layering consists of three parts, namely the base layer , the insulating layer (the middle layer), and the shell layer (the outermost layer).

The base layer is the part that is in direct contact with the skin. This section functions to maintain a stable body temperature, even when facing extreme temperature changes.

The recommended material is polyester or synthetic. These materials are able to absorb sweat well and help sweat move to the next layer.

Furthermore, there is an insulating layer that functions to regulate humidity. Choose a material with high flexibility, such as polarguard, fleece, or down. Finally, there is a shell layer that protects the body from bad weather, such as rain or strong winds.

This section is very crucial because it also serves to protect the previous two sections. For this section, choose clothing materials with waterproof, windproof, and breathable capabilities .

2. If possible, don’t need to set up a tent

Camping in the mountains when the rainfall is high will feel very inconvenient and uncomfortable. If possible, climb by ‘ tek-tok ‘ or go straight down without having to stay overnight.

You can choose mountains with relatively short hiking trails, such as Mount Andong, Mount Merapi, and Mount Prau in Central Java, or Mount Batur on the island of Bali.

[adrotate group=”6″]

3. Store your belongings in a dry bag

Dry bag is a waterproof bag that serves to protect your belongings from wet conditions while climbing. Put all your belongings in a dry bag before putting it in the carrier. Check out best dry bags at hardloop.com

For the cheap version, you can use a trash bag instead of a dry bag . The function is the same, namely to keep the luggage from getting wet.

4. Use gaiters

Gaiters serve to protect the ankle from above so that water, mud, or sand does not enter the shoe.

Of course it will be very inconvenient if the inside of your shoes gets mud. If you have more budget, there’s nothing wrong with buying gaiters .

5. Choose clothes with quick dry ability

T-shirts or pants with quick dry materials can be the right choice for hiking during the rainy season. Besides being light and easy to carry, clothes with this capability can also dry quickly, thereby reducing the risk of developing hypothermia.

From time to time, I have told a blog about a coincidence over the years of travel that has been more or less in trouble. We [...]

From time to time, I have told a blog about a coincidence over the years of travel that has been more or less in trouble. We have been stuck on a local train in Naples, which has crashed in a dark tunnel; On Lake Como on a mountain cart trail or on the Amalfi Coast between a tree and a rock. It has also been close by that we have not been reported as a car thief in Tuscany when we got stuck in the monumental morning rush hour in Florence and the return of the car was badly delayed. There have also been bombings at Nice airport during interrogation, and that’s what was a hot situation. In other words, it hurts the doer, but everything is always clear. And here, too, there were only a fraction of the tense places that have come across over the years.

But those coincidences of the trips are not always (thankfully!) Just heartbeat-thrilling, but they also happen to be remembered for years to come. People I meet along the way when it’s the salt of life and tourism. In the past, I have reported our tire crime in Tuscany in May and the surprising help we received at the time. Today, in turn, came to mind an even older memory of the early years of adulthood, when we got our first taste of Italian kindness. So let’s go back for a moment to the last millennium and our first trips to Italy.

We lived in the late 1990s and my wing and I were on holiday in Emilia-Romagna on the shores of the Adriatic. In my twenties, the holiday program included not only admiring the scenery and sights, but also a certain clubbing, and in Rimini it was more than good. It was already our third holiday week with these sedans, so the coastal partyers had already become very familiar. The heavenly delicacies of the Rimini trattoria, as well as the wonderful owner and staff, whose people had had enough to do, had also become familiar.

One night we started to miss the variety of close-up clubbing and asked the trattoria people how to get to L’Altro Mondo Studios outside the city , whose great mood, super good muse and light show we had heard a lot about, and we should get to experience it too. The owner of the trattoria listens to the pensive look on our face and we are waiting for an answer mainly from the address or something similar. But isn’t that what, after a moment of silence, he asks because we would like to go? We answer that even tomorrow and so he inches that Come visit again later today, as our Vakkari trattoria is also the discoteca owner Vakkari Trattoria and he would be coming to eat in an hour. What a coincidence!

We leave with passionate feelings for Passeggiata to digest the poles of Venus, or tortellines, and return to his trattoria later. The owner of the trattoria is already waiting for us and with a wide smile on his face he says come here tomorrow night at the same time. He has arranged for us a ride and a surprise – perché tu sei mio amico , because you are my friends. Jumping for joy, we thank and arrange a date for tomorrow, the same time and the same place.

The next day goes on the beach in a wait-and-see bubbling vibe, as in the evening there would be no basic oats but one of Europe’s best-known discotechos. When evening comes, I put the lilac on the eyelids and we walk up to the trattoria to wait for our ride. And that’s where we rode, already waiting at the counter, in his snake-patterned pants and his white collared shirt. The owner of the trattoria introduces us to each other, an even wider smile on his face. Our driver is not the running son of the place but the owner of the discoteca itself.

With a confused feel of confusion and joy, we go to his car and drive to the outskirts of the city. The owner of Discoteca turns out to be a really easy-going guy with whom to talk for a long time. Soon, however, we are already there and we are turning into the yard of an industrial hall-like building. The exterior doesn’t reveal what it’s like to go inside, but the steady bass rumble and the long string meandering to the door give promise for the future.

The owner of the place welcomes us to his kingdom and asks to follow after him. We walk past him with a long queue and he introduces us as his guests to the door staff. We are going to pay the entrance fee, but no no, there will be no hearing. We get the indignant glances of the queuers and the astonished expressions of the staff. This inviting tourists may not be everyday.

He introduces us to the interior of his kingdom, where the atmosphere is already on the roof and a stunning light show going on. At the end of the tour, he will take us to the bar counter, provide drinks and instruct more staff. We don’t hear what he says to them, but the staff nods and looks at us in confusion. The owner of the place digs his business card out of his pocket and writes something in Italian behind it. He hands the card to us telling us to show this at the bar, if there are any staff other than the one we just met, they already know how to act. You are my VIP guests today, order whatever you want and how much you want. I offer, because the friends of the owner of the trattoria are my friends too. Enjoy the evening show and have fun, my staff will take care of you and transportation will be at your disposal.

When you think of Spain, your mind might immediately race to flamenco dancers, golden beaches, or the architectural wonders of Gaudí. But Spain is so much more—a vibrant tapestry woven from centuries of culture, cuisine, and breathtaking landscapes.

Barcelona: Where Art Meets the Sea

Start your journey in Barcelona, a city that feels like it was designed by a dreamer. The whimsical shapes of Park Güell, the towering majesty of La Sagrada Familia, and the lively buzz of Las Ramblas create an unforgettable welcome. Don’t forget to grab some tapas in the Gothic Quarter or sip sangria with a view of the Mediterranean sunset.

Madrid: The Pulse of Spain
Madrid, the capital, offers a different kind of energy. By day, stroll through the Prado Museum or relax at El Retiro Park. By night, dive into its electric nightlife, where locals dance until sunrise. Madrid is the perfect mix of elegance and edge.

Andalusia: Where History and Heat Collide

Head south to Andalusia for a taste of authentic Spanish soul. Visit the Alhambra in Granada, get lost in the maze-like streets of Seville, and watch a flamenco performance that will stir your soul. This region is where Moorish history, sun-drenched plazas, and spicy cuisine blend into something truly unforgettable.

Want to escape the tourist crowds? Try Ronda, a stunning cliffside town with jaw-dropping views. Or explore the green valleys and rugged coastlines of Asturias and Galicia in the north—perfect for hiking, surfing, and connecting with nature.

Foodie Heaven
Every region in Spain has its flavor.
